Privacy Policy
How information moves through accounts, enquiries, valuation requests and the community.
Who to contact
This notice describes personal information handled through EBITDA Market. Email ebitda@mailfence.com for privacy questions or to exercise your rights. We verify an appropriate level of account ownership before releasing, correcting or deleting personal information.
Information you provide
Account information includes name, email, company, intent, location, acceptance records and an encoded password or Google account identifier. Enquiries include the listing reference, your message, replies and review status. Introduction records contain the summary, counterparty reference and proposed fee you submit. Valuation requests include the financial inputs, calculated scenario, contact information and any optional marketing choice. Community records include posts, replies, saves, follows, reports, profile visibility settings, photographs and introduction requests. Avoid providing identity documents or unnecessary sensitive personal information in open forms.
Information generated by using the service
We use session identifiers, expiry times, security rate-limit records and operational request information to run the site and protect accounts. Our systems store an encoded password rather than readable password text. Payment records can include Stripe customer, subscription, invoice and checkout identifiers, payment status and paid-access dates. Full card details are processed by Stripe rather than stored in the marketplace database.
Purposes and lawful bases
We process account, enquiry and requested service information where necessary to provide the service or take steps at your request before an agreement. We rely on legitimate interests for proportionate security, fraud prevention, moderation and resolving service problems, balancing those interests against your rights. Legal obligations may require payment or dispute records to be retained. Optional email marketing uses your separate consent where required; requesting a valuation conversation is not consent to unrelated marketing. Public profile and portrait publication follows the visibility choices and approval conditions shown in the community.
Who can see what
The calculator runs in your browser until you request contact. Submitted valuation leads and marketplace enquiries are available to authorised platform staff for review. Relevant enquiry information may be shared with the advertiser or adviser needed to handle the enquiry; we do not promise that every request will be forwarded. Private community data is restricted to paid members according to each feature. Opted-in directory profiles appear to eligible members. A public specialist teaser and portrait require specialist approval, active membership and the public-preview choice. Specialist contact details are shared between the requester and specialist after the introduction is accepted.
Service providers and overseas processing
Hosting, database, storage and delivery providers process information to operate the site. Stripe processes payment and billing information when checkout is enabled. Google processes sign-in information if you choose Google sign-in and it is enabled. These providers may process data outside the UK. Applicable transfers need an appropriate legal mechanism, such as adequacy or contractual safeguards. Contact us for information about the providers and transfer safeguards relevant to your data; this notice does not assert a UK-only hosting location.
Retention and deletion
Account and community information is retained while needed to provide the service, honour your choices and handle legitimate security, record-keeping or dispute needs. Enquiry, introduction and valuation records are reviewed against the purpose, last activity, transaction status and any applicable legal obligation. We restrict or delete information when it is no longer required; we do not promise that closing a browser or cancelling membership immediately erases records. Sessions expire after their stated lifetime. Retained billing and dispute records may outlast an account. Ask us about the applicable period for a particular record.
Your rights and the right to object
Subject to the applicable conditions, you can request access, correction, erasure, restriction or a portable copy of relevant information. You can object to processing based on legitimate interests, and you have an absolute right to object to direct marketing. Withdraw marketing consent by emailing ebitda@mailfence.com; this does not affect earlier lawful processing. You can change directory and public-preview choices in your community profile. We normally respond to rights requests within one month, subject to lawful extensions and identity checks.
Automation, children and complaints
Valuation scenarios are mathematical estimates using your inputs, not automated eligibility, credit or investment decisions. Membership access follows payment state. The service is for people aged 18 or over. Raise concerns with us first if you wish, or complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk. We may update this notice when features or processing change and will communicate material changes where required.
